Dr. Gerald Mauriello

Dr. Gerald Mauriello, Jr., is a Board-Certified Podiatrist and Foot and Ankle Surgeon. He completed his undergraduate education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and earned his master’s degree in Health Education from Columbia University’s prestigious Teacher’s College in New York City. Dr. Mauriello continued his medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and graduated in 2004.

He completed his residency in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of NYC, where he served as Chief Resident. Following his residency training, Dr. Mauriello was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is currently an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Surgery at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Mauriello completed advanced training at the world renowned, Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia. This valuable experience allows him to utilize specialized techniques to reconstruct deformities of the foot and ankle after traumatic injury and complications associated with diabetes.

Prior to Joining Pequest Foot and Ankle Specialists, Dr. Mauriello has spent five years as Director of the Foot and Ankle Institute of Advanced Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, NJ. He was a member of the Faculty Practice of NYU’s Hospital for Joint Diseases and served as Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at the University of Buffalo’s VAMC.

He is proud to bring his expertise to the Patients of Functional Foot and Anle Restoration. Dr. Mauriello has special interest and advanced training in diabetic foot and ankle disorders, charcot foot and ankle reconstruction, sports medicine, trauma of the foot and ankle, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
